Travelling Safely

It is important that you protect yourself and others with insurance coverage for person liability, theft, collision and property damage.

To ensure safe towing and reduce sway, both the van and the tow vehicle should be level. An unlevel car or van could be due to incorrect ball height, uneven loading of gear, or simply too much weight for the van and tow vehicle. An unbalanced load or being overweight could change the handling characteristics of your van and tow vehicle, result in premature wear on suspension and tyres, or could make your tow vehicle or van unsafe which could cause damage to property, injury or death. Please ensure that you do not exceed the towing limits stipulated by your tow vehicle manufacturer.

The Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM) is shown on the Vehicle Identification Plate fitted to your van. This is the maximum weight of the van plus load including gas and water. Do not overload your van. Exceeding the load limit and / or towing vehicle may invalidate your insurance cover and will void your Rock Solid warranty. We recommend that upon initial loading (including full gas cylinders and water tanks) that you take it to a public weighbridge to ensure a safe load weight.
